Subtle color glazes, freedom of forms between organic and clearly shaped, interesting deviations, imaginative flowers, but for a limited amount of time: ink is speaking on the water surface.
The EBRU paintings stems out of a traditional Turkish technique, which is the essence of decoration and marmorized paper as well as of beautiful paintings of flowers and birds. Ebru generates specific forms and patterns, being the painting made on water, with substances that allow pigments to float on the surface. Saverio Tonoli revisited the Ebru, adapting it to the different behaviour of ink and allowing it to show off its complex nature and micro texture. The painting on water resemble a printing process, thus making in possible to compose the image in different painting session.
